Alias Fu Yuan was born in 1960 in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. He has been interested in painting since childhood. In 1978 he graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Hebei province, and studied painting under the guidance of master Xu Hongbin. After graduation he attended advanced studies at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts and Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Currently he is a member of the Chinese Artists’ Association, Hebei Branch. Xing is unceasingly studying and forming a new expressive way of which it absorbs the traditional and bold creativity. Xing specializes in Gongbi style (fine brushwork) cat, dog, and tiger etc. His animal works are characterized by a sort of distinctive brush-texture and quality of fur, which are distinct from other artists’ works. Some of his paintings have won various prizes at national art expositions. His works can be found in corporate and private collection at home and abroad.
